THE SIGNIFICANCE OF FOUNDING OUR

PROFESSIONAL CYCLING CLUB

Our club, which was officially founded in February of 2009, is the first professional club in the history of Mongolian cycling. Now our team is fully registered at the UCI and our members have acquired the right to participate into the world cycling competitions.

As proof of this we can mention the successful participation of our members into 27 world class races in cycling's winter sport "Cyclo cross" as it is practised and televised in Belgium, France and Holland. The races took place during the period from November 2009 until February 2010, including 5 competitions of the UCI World Cup, and finally in the UCI Cyclocross World Championships arranged in the Czech Republic.

Our club initiated the development of this kind of cycling in Mongolia for the first time in our cycling history. After managing to find all our sponsors from Belgium, we reached certain achievements and gained top calss experience over a 3 months period. Now we aim to continue this experience and excell in it.

Here the most important thing lays in the enormously significant achievement, which was accomplished by our sportsmen showing that our members could reach further to successful results. In our case, when in Mongolia it is impossible to train and prepare for the competition in winter, our members can successfully participate in the cyclo cross racing in Europe. We can train and perform all year long for the first time in our Mongolian cycling history.

Now the final objective of our members lays in continuing to participate into international cycling competitions. Using our newly found momentum, we aim to achieve successful results in the Asian Championship games arranged to take place at the end of this year.

We have reached an agreement with our Belgian and French sponsors to get donations for 30,000 Euro from them, to enable us to participate into cyclo cross racing competitions during the 3 winter months, as well as to perform road racing during the 2 summer months of May and June in Europe.

Now we are seeking to find our own sponsors from Mongolia to allow us to carry out our trainings in Mongolia and to arrange racing competitions with the goal to build up our club and keep our professional sportsmen in competition. We need the support of the Mongolian business community for this professional development.

Besides of this one of our most significant achievements is the sponsoring of our club by the former Belgian World Cycling Champion Johan Museeuw though donation of his own brand bicycles. He has provided to our club team 6 sets of “Flax Carbon” bicycles, which are made according to the latest technologic achievements in the racing bicycle, amounting to total 25,000 Euro.

If we wish to successfully participate in the World and Olympic games in cycling competitions and reach to achievements, then it is necessary for us to have our professional club and improve our successful results by continuing to participate in the international competitions. We must gain high class experiences and keep abreast with the current developments in the world cycling sport.

We hope that Mongolian companies and business entities take note of our present state and recognize how far we have come without any help from Mongolian business.
